Giovani Lo Celso is believed to be unhappy with his lack of minutes at Tottenham Hotspur and may try to ‘force’ a transfer in the summer. Should this be the case, Real Betis remain keen to secure his services for next season.
After spending the last two seasons on loan at Villarreal, Lo Celso was signed by Ange Postecoglou for this season.
The Argentine midfielder has played 19 times for Tottenham There were two goals and two assists this season (Transfer market).
However, he has largely had to make do with substitute appearances and has struggled with a number of injuries, meaning he has only featured for a total of 567 minutes this season. That’s an average of almost 30 minutes per appearance.

This lack of minutes has left Lo Celso frustrated and his former club Real Betis may restart their search for the midfielder.
This is according to Sports stadiumwho claim that Real Betis have had a “constant” interest in Lo Celso for some time and are now hoping that Spurs will lower their demands for a transfer this summer.

Lo Celso is believed to be thinking about the 2026 World Cup and his place in the Argentina squad. With that in mind, the report suggests the 28-year-old is “planning” to bow out of North London at the end of the season.
Betis have apparently been in ‘constant’ communication with Lo Celso for months and the La Liga club are believed to be ‘crazy’ about the idea of a reunion with their former player.
They will need Spurs to play along and have a realistic assessment, but Lo Celso has reportedly made it clear he wants to return to Spain.

I thought Lo Celso might have something to offer, but his time is probably up now. We’re better off cashing in this summer and getting him off our books, especially considering his departure would free up space for another non-homegrown player in our squad next season.
